Rising Above Addiction

Residential Living That Respects the Individual

Listen and Be Available

Listening is the Most Powerful form of Acknowledgement .........a way of saying "You are Important"

My Advice:

The 1st thing I would say is Listen.   The second thing...Listen, the 3rd thing.....Listen....And if you do people will begin to open up and talk to you. They'll always talk. Why?  Because no one has ever taken the Time to listen to them before.

Invest In Our Residents

Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it.  When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your Time.

 Investment through Empathy

This is where it all has to start. It may sound trite, but people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. The world is filled with hurting people, and people who truly care take the Time to Listen.

Spacious Accomodations

The Social and Psychological effects of overcrowding are well documented and have been associated with increased depression and agression.  Studies have suggested that social behavior is adversely affected when there are a higher density of individuals living within a space . Altruistic (Humane) behavior tends to decline as crowding increases.  Under more crowded conditions, people are less likely to complete all of their tasks and experience higher anxiety and poorer mood.   Higher anxiety and poorer mood, when dealing with individuals suffering from addiction, are precursors to RELAPSE.
